Hot springs in Tuscany and Lazio


Looking for an alternative to a day at the beach? It may seem paradoxical, but a trip to the hot springs in the summer can be a refreshing thing. The area between Rome and Florence is full of natural sources. Some are hot, some are warm, some are classy, some are resistant. There is something for every season. Here are some of our favorite hot springs of Tuscany and Lazio.
From the time of the Etruscans, the thermal waters of the hot springs in Tuscany and Lazio have been sought for their healing properties. The Romans developed pools with masonry skills, and has become further developed through centuries of popes and kings. Today, there are modern spa facilities and rustic pools hidden in the hills and wild fields. The choice is yours.
Terme di Sorano
A rest stop for centuries facilities around these hot springs are newly renovated and landscaped with gardens and inviting pools.
There are two pools, a hot (37 degrees Celsius) held by a natural spring and a large freeform pool. Included in the ticket price are loungers, chairs and umbrellas. The cafe / bar serves salads and sandwiches for lunch and a variety of spa services available (advance booking recommended)

Fonteverde

- Go early. Parking and locker rooms are empty and the pool is quiet.
- If you are planning to explore the wildest pools and rustic wearing sandals and a dress. In the spa resort you can often rent these items.
- Pack a swimsuit old. Some of the pools have a strong sulfur smell.
