Passports are documents that allow the holder to leave the country and go abroad for a party, event, study or work. However, entry into a country is not automatically granted to the holder of a passport; he or she must apply for a visa to enter the country. But both are connected with each other; no one can leave their country of birth or enter another country without a passport and visa.
A visa requires some reasons why a person to travel or stay in a foreign country for a specified period of time. It is affixed to the passport and is considered as a supplement to the passport, which is the main travel document. Most visas are possible; the term is usually up to six months in some cases, may be extended if the previous application is made through the proper channels and justified documentation. However, there are requirements and regulations for the strict visa extensions.
Even in the late 19th and early 20th century, not much importance was placed in passports and visas and those not required to move from one country to another. Many people traveled by train in the European continent and the exception of certain sensitive areas, where a kind of personal identity needed to establish a boundary between two test countries, usually do not insist.
Post World War II, the scenario has changed very different borders and geographical areas requiring the need to regulate the movement of people and goods. Before that, the movement of goods and people just need a paper with a similar stamp of approval to a passport.
Some types of visas are stamped on arrival in a foreign country or through a private visa services provider specializing generally designated by the consulate or embassy of the country, if a person is unable to appear in person. These private service providers usually charge additional fees to complete the client process and verification of documents, the examination of applications and submission of documents to the competent authority. In the absence of a consulate countries visa or embassy of the country of origin of a person, then it may be necessary for the person to travel to a third country where a consulate or embassy of that country receive approval visa in person.
However, these and away from the norm; almost all countries have embassies and consulates around the world.
The need for a visa is usually dependent on factors such as:
• The citizenship or nationality of the application
• Duration of stay
• The goal applicant or activity in the country you wish to travel
There are several categories of visas to travel to different requirements and conditions of the issue.
